We do not use paraffin wax, hence our candles do not contain the harmful chemicals associated with the use of paraffin. We use only natural and ecological soy wax, 100% vegetable.

Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the soybean oil, extracted from the seeds of the soybean (Glycine max). The oil is purified and goes through a process called hydrogenation. This process dramatically alters the melting point of the oil, making it a solid at room temperature.

Paraffin wax is used in more than 90% of candle making, mainly because it is very inexpensive and easier to work with. Paraffin is the leftover by-product of petroleum. Studies have shown that this petroleum by-product can release the same harmful carcinogens into the atmosphere as your car produces when gasoline is burned. When a paraffin candle in burned, it produces toxic petrol-carbon soot that blackens walls, furniture and ceilings This soot goes into the air you breathe and can be hazardous to your health.

Soy wax is made from soy eggs, which means it is a completely natural and environmentally friendly vegetable wax. Soy wax when burned on the candle, doesn't release toxic substances.

While soy candles look and smell similar to paraffin candles, they offer valuable advantages.

Soy wax is made from the oil of soy beans, meaning it is a vegetable wax and is completely natural and environmentally friendly, the benefits of soy wax goes on:

- Soy wax candles burn slower, cleaner and cooler than paraffin wax candles. They are known to last up to two times longer than a paraffin wax candle of the same size. Meaning you may pay more for a soy candle initially, but you won't have to buy new candles as often.

- A soy candle holds fragrance very well. As they burn more slowly, soy candles will release fragrances gradually and not in a quick wave. This eliminates too strong scents that some candles can produce when they are first lit and creates a more pleasant atmosphere.

However, not all soy candles are made equally. While some do not use unnecessary chemicals, others include additives and dyes, or are blended with paraffin wax. If the label says only, vegetable or soy wax, that doesn't mean the wax is 100% vegetable or soy wax.
